A little backstory to this clip before you watch it:

Will Smith’s father abandoned him and his mother when he was a child, and when Will was finally getting into show business and making a name for himself, he tried to sneak his way back into his life like nothing happened. Will co-wrote this episode, and James Avery (Uncle Phil) said “this scene was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to shoot in my life. Every emotion, every word.. that was Will”

Will was actually supposed to play it off and then walk away, and there was originally an alternate scene that was supposed to happen, but he actually completely cut out what was supposed to be said, and did all of his own dialogue. The hug at the end of this scene is completely genuine, and this was a stepping stone in Will’s career where he started to take on the “do what feels, sounds, and looks right” approach to his acting.

i don’t care how many times i reblog this.

^^^ I reblog it every time I see it

So apparently, in the movie “What To Expect When You’re Expecting” they had to cut  a scene (lolpunintended) where they describe, in detail, what occurs during a circumcision, in order to make the movie PG-13.

That scene alone would have made it Rated-R.
A practice that a lot of Americans refuse to even think about, that is enough to make an audience “too uncomfortable,” is something that a lot of them have performed on their own children?

Our ‘culture’ is full of so many weird walls and blinders.
Cameron Diaz made a really good analogy [in this video]:

America is the same way about their beef. They just want it delivered, in a Styrofoam package with saran-wrap over it.  They don’t wanna know how it got to ya’.  The same thing with circumcision.

Is it right because you hair looked nice?

Is it right because you were entertained?

Is it right because you filled your face ?

Justify it to yourself any way you want…

None of this is right.

I’m making a point.

I haven’t supplemented in two years, but you know we die instantly if we miss 1200% of our daily b12 even once so I’m really living dangerously.

What he said but make two one.

dionthesocialist:

Sometimes, I sit around and think about tumblr people, like how weird it is that they still exist even when I’m not reading their blog. And then I think all these random questions about them, like what their morning routine is like, what they sound like when they’re nervously flirting with someone, or what makes them put down the remote when they’re flipping channels on a Saturday afternoon.

And then I freak out because I realize other people might think about me that way too.

So as an experiment I watched 2 hours of tv, and went on a walk.

I saw 0 commercials for vegan food.

1 Billboard for vegan food.

45 commercials for meat.

17 billboards for meat.

Yeah, we’re sure shoving our views down your throat.
